Q: I don't want to receive any e-mails from WillSelfDestruct?
A: Either click on the link on the last email you received for the block link or enter your email address below.
Q: I just received a message from WillSelfDestruct. How can I see who sent it to me?
A: Unfortunately, you can‘t. We simply don't keep that information around. See our privacy policy for more information.
Q: Is this legal?
A: Yes, of course - anonymous email has been around for many years now. The difference is 1) our competitors charge for it, and 2) they don‘t have the timeout options that we have. There was some talk of outlawing it in Europe but that was ditched. Well, I guess if you still don‘t believe us, you can read this article on CNN, and this from the Electronic Freedom Foundation. We don‘t mask our headers, don‘t manipulate the return address, don‘t send out commercial email, and comply with the CAN-SPAM act.

Q: What if someone tries to use this service to send out SPAM?
A: While we don‘t store any user data, we will cooperate with authorities, anyone caught using this service for spam or illegal purposes will be monitored. If authorities are not involved, we‘ll just ban them. If authorities are involved... Well yep we‘ll give you up, just like that.
Q: Okay, so what do I use this for?
A: To be honest with you, we‘re not precisely sure. Here are some ideas:
- Sending out passwords? it‘s much better than your password sitting in someone else‘s mailbox for eternity, or
- Report fraud to your boss or institution, or
- Inform authorities about illegal activities, or
- Tell employees to stop using the internet for private use, or simply...
- Tell someone you love them (why not?)
If you can figure something else out, go for it, and please let us know about it too!
Q: How do you guys make money?
A: Money?? We haven‘t seen that in a long time. Well, hopefully some of you will click on the ads on the right hand side. That will at least help us pay for the bandwidth to run the site, or part of it anyway. This is a part of a larger industrial strength security application that we‘ll be releasing soon - we‘ll charge for that. In the meantime, rock on.
Q: How secure is this?
A: This is secure, but it‘s not REALLY secure. If someone wanted to, they could potentially write code to save down what you send, or print the information, take a photo, really there are a large number of things someone COULD do to save whatever you send them. If you were to send a password with this, it‘s pretty damn secure though, only the holder of the email address has the exact web address of where the password is stored, and we don‘t exactly let just anybody wander around in our site.
